The machines are set to be available at local supermarkets.

'Reverse vending machines' are expected to be available in the midlands early next year.

The scheme allows people to return their cans and bottles, in exchange for money.

New machines will be available at local supermarkets and give refund vouchers based on the number of recyclables returned.

It's expected to go live in February of next year, with local authorities being asked to choose facilities for the scheme.
