'Right To Be Forgotten' Bill Passes All Stages Of The Oireachtas

Government amendments cut the remission period to five years.

The 'Right to Be Forgotten' legislation has been passed through all stages of the Oireachtas. 

The new law requires insurers to disregard certain cancer-related medical histories when assessing eligible applicants for mortgage protection insurance. 

Government amendments reduced the remission period from seven to five years and increased the mortgage protection threshold from €500,000 to €650,000.
