Ryanair Calling On EU To Protect Flights Amid French Air Strikes

2,000 European flights have been cancelled today.

Ryanair's Michael O'Leary is calling on the European Union to take action on flight cancellations.

2,000 flights around Europe have been cancelled today due to strike action by air traffic controllers in France.

The industrial action has since been called off, but French authorities there asked airlines to cancel flights that would pass over the country's airspace during the planned strike action. 

Group CEO of Ryanair, Mullingar's Michael O'Leary, says industrial action in one EU member state shouldn't be allowed to impact the flights to and from other countries:
