Samurai Sword Among Midlands Weapons Seizures

Contraband with an estimated value of €275,400 was also seized by Revenue in various operations.

A samurai sword and telescopic baton have been seized in the Midlands by Revenue officers in the last week.

They have also seized contraband with an estimated value of €275,400 in various operations in the Midlands, Dublin, Rosslare Europort and Shannon Airport.

Around 8.5kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of over €170,800 were uncovered through intelligence operations.

Around 1,150 assorted tablets, and other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of almost €2,000 were also discovered by  Revenue Officers in parcels at premises in the Midlands, Dublin and Shannon.

The parcels originally came from the USA, Thailand, Ukraine, the UK, France, Canada, Poland, and Germany, and were destined for various addresses across the country.

Tobacco products with an estimated value of over €19,500 and over 210 litres of alcohol, with an estimated value of over €4,000 were also seized in the Midlands alongside two weapons.
