Schools Told Not To Set Dates Yet For First Holy Communion And Confirmation

Children in the midlands are preparing for holy communion and confirmation ceremonies next year, although it's not yet clear if they can go ahead.

Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin, Denis Nulty, has written to schools and families, advising them not to arrange dates for the services.

With uncertainty still surrounding the timeline for a covid vaccination programme, Monsignor in Portlaoise, John Byrne, says they may not be able to hold the ceremonies next April and May:
