Mullingar is joining Tullamore in warning very long ED wait times for non urgent cases.
Another Midlands hospital is asking patients to consider their options before presenting at its emergency department.
The Regional Hospital in Mullingar is warning that those who present at its ED with non-urgent conditions will experience very long wait times.
It comes after Tullamore Hospital issued a similar warning this week in Offaly.
Management in Mullingar is asking people to try their local pharmacy, GP, or out of hours GP if they have non-emergency conditions.
Visiting restrictions are also in place due to the high numbers of respiratory infections in circulation.
