Clara Train Station could get a second platform as part of an Irish Rail review.
An Offaly train station could be in line for a new platform.
Local TD Tony McCormack has confirmed Clara Train Station is currently being considered for a second platform as part of an Irish Rail review into the Portarlington to Galway Line.
This means more trains would be able to stop at the station and minimise delays.
The Fianna Fail deputy is also pushing for the reopening of Geashill Train Station.
He says it would be of little cost to Irish Rail to reopen it:
