Emergency services are understood to be dealing with a collision.
A person has been airlifted to Beaumont Hospital following a crash on the M9 in Carlow.
The incident happened Southbound at Junction 6 this morning.
The casualty was taken into the care of the M116 helicopter at the scene, and transferred by air to Dublin Fire Brigade’s training site in Marino.
They were subsequently handed over to paramedics for transfer to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
Their condition is not yet known.
The section of road between Junction 5 and Junction 6 remains closed, and local diversions are in place.
