Minister suggests Universities borrow to build
Any Ukrainian refugees staying in college-owned student accommodation will have to leave by September.
Higher Education Minister Simon Harris says student housing was only ever intended as a temporary support in the Ukrainian crisis.
However, he does admit the government has no power over privately-owned units.
Speaking in Offaly today, Minister Harris said he is working on long-term solutions, including a scheme that would support the Technological University of the Shannon to build on its own land:
