Sick Offaly Boy Flown To England By Irish Air Corps This Morning

The one year old is travelling for a stem cell transplant in Newcastle.

The Irish Air Corps is flying a seriously ill Offaly baby to England for treatment this morning.

One year old Daire O'Donnell from Edenderry suffers from atresia of the bowel and requires a bowel and transplant.

But before that, he needs a stem cell transplant.

He's finally secured a transplant match at a hospital in Newcastle and is travelling over to begin a six-month long treatment.

His mam Derval says none of this could have happened without the €20,000 donated through a GoFundMe page for Daire:
