SIMI says a 60 per cent surge in EV sales in the Midlands wouldn't have been possible without Government incentives.

The government is being urged to incentivise electric vehicle-buying in next month's budget.

New figures show so far this year, over 700 new electric cars have been registered in the Midlands- a 60% increase on the same time last year.

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry says that would not have been possible without Government incentives.
