At least six families in Offaly are struggling to secure a guaranteed place for their children in the upcoming academic year.
They've been in contact with Laois Offaly TD Carol Nolan, who says there could be more facing similar struggles in the county.
She says she's liasing with Education Minister, Norma Foley, in a bid to secure an increase in the availability of school places in Offaly.
