They are appealing to drivers to slow down.
They are warning that everything changes about driving in snowy conditions.
There are also reports of treacherous road conditions on the N80 between Portlaoise and Stradbally and Mountmellick and Portlaoise.
They are also asking people to stay in doors if possible.
