It serves more than 18,000 students.
The South East Technological University has officially been launched - following a decade-long campaign for a university in the region.
S-E-T-U has campuses across counties Carlow, Waterford and Wexford - serving more than 18 thousand students.
It was formally established last May - after IT Carlow and Waterford IT merged.
Speaking at the launch, Higher Education Minister Simon Harris says many thought they wouldn't get to this point:
