The HSE agreed to the redeployment of staff to Oakdale Nursing Home.

The redeployment of HSE nurses to a midlands nursing home is being described as a huge relief.

Oakdale Nursing Home in Portarlington was among those struggling to cope with the increase pressure of covid-19.

Nine healthcare workers from the Midlands Regional Hospitals in Tullamore and Portlaoise are now being redeployed, after a meeting with the HSE.

General manager, Valerie Moore says some of their existing staff are now having a day off for the first time in two weeks:
