The wooden tribute to Banagher’s Johnny McEvoy has rotted due to bad weather last year, and is unsalvagable.
Seán Corrigan, from the Corner House in Banagher, says the sculpture was vulnerable as it was part of a living tree that required regular treatment, and a decision was made by the local development group to remove it.
But he says there are plans to replace it as soon as possible:
