Status Yellow Wind Warning Coming Into Effect In The Midlands

Offaly forecaster Cathal Nolan is urging people to be cautious.

A status yellow wind warning comes into effect in the midlands later today.

Met Éireann says there will be gusts of up to 110 kilometres an hour, and higher on hills.

The alert for the entire country will begin at 12 noon and remain in place until 7 o'clock tomorrow morning. 

Offaly forecaster Cathal Nolan, from Ireland's Weather Channel, is urging people to be cautious:

Cathal says the worst conditions are expected between 7pm and 3am Thursday morning. 

He says it brings the risk of some minor damage:
