83% of tech firms are reporting difficulty finding candidates with the right skills.
That comes from a recent report by ManpowerGroup which also found that 55% of tech companies are hiring this year.
Seanie Morris is the STEM Engagement Officer at Laois County Council, he believes the midlands is rife with job opportunities in the region.
He is encouraging students to choose college courses they would consider for the 'long haul'.
