Students' Union Calling For Decision To Be Made On Next Year's Leaving Cert

Its president, Laois' Reuban Murray says students are currently being over-assessed.

The Irish Second Level Students' Union is calling for a decision to be made on next year's Leaving Cert.

Its president, Mountrath's Reuban Murray, says regular assessments are currently being carried in schools, should the predicted grades model be used again next summer instead of sitting the state exams.

He says students are already worried about the potential spread of covid-19 in the classroom and wants the Department of Education to be more forthcoming with clear guidelines to alleviate any additional pressure:
