Since opening in 1978, the company now has close to €300 million in assets, with the group's newest location at Banner Plaza outside Ennis, marking Pat McDonagh's 11th service station in Ireland.
However, the Ballinasloe man says obtaining planning permission and rising costs are major challenges to expansion, adding that financial constraints are also preventing many other businesses across the country from growing.
