Breastfeeding numbers have increased significantly in recent years in the county.

The success of a breastfeeding support group in Offaly is down to its ability to recognise the challenges of early motherhood.

The county is now ranked in the top three for exclusive breastfeeding at three months.

In 2024, 49% of mothers in Offaly exclusively breastfed at three months, while 52% continued breastfeeding either exclusively or partially.
