Support Service In Westmeath Confirms Closure Plans Over Resource Strain

Staff support has been in place since July.

The Westmeath Support Service Against Domestic Abuse is confirming it's looking to 'wind down' its operations due to capacity issues.

Cuan, the statutory agency tackling domestic violence, says it's currently helping to source support from neighbouring services.

The organisation put arrangements in place in July to provide temporary staff support.

It says preserving continuity of the service in the region "remains a priority".
