A meeting is being held in Laois today as five pupils in the area have not been allocated a seat.
The Tánaiste says school transport fees may be re-introduced next year, as oversubscribing has become an issue.
Fees were waived in an effort to save families €650 this year, but now thousands are going without a place on the bus.
