Taoiseach Acknowledges Frustration As Laois Refuge Centre Stalls

Funding for an 8-unit shelter was denied due to non compliance issues.

The Taoiseach is acknowledging the frustration felt by people in Laois over delays in delivering a refuge centre for victims of domestic violence.

It comes after the housing body first selected to deliver the project had its application to fund the 8-unit shelter rejected over issues around non-compliance.

A new approved body is now being sought to partner with Laois Domestic Abuse Service.
