Taoiseach Commits To Looking At School Places For Midlands Town

Parents are struggling to find a place for their child in primary school.

The Taoiseach says he'll raise the shortage of schools in a midlands town with the Education Minister.

200 children in Portlaoise looking for school places at primary level are being forced to travel to other areas like Mountmellick, Stradbally and Timahoe.

Parents are finding it 'nearly impossible' their children in a primary school in the town.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar says he'll make sure Education Minister Norma Foley is made aware of the issue:
