Taoiseach Rejects ‘Loaded’ Question On Border Poll During His Political Career

US President Donald Trump referenced Irish reunification on a number of occasions.

The Taoiseach rejected what he described as a "loaded" question about whether a border poll will be held during his political career.

In Doonbeg yesterday, US President Donald Trump talked up the prospect of Irish reunification for a third time during his two-day visit, as well as announcing that Irish whiskey will be exempt from US tariffs.

Micheál Martin is due in Manchester later this week for his first meeting with Andy Burnham since the latter became British Prime Minister.
