Leo Varadkar heard the case for re-opening some stations in the region, as well as increasing the opening hours for Banagher, Kilcormac and Kinnity, from Laois Offaly Independent TD Carol Nolan.
There were 44 community Gardaí covering the Laois Offaly constituency in 2009 - that figure is now just 12, according to recent figures.
