From today on the Dublin to Galway trains - they'll be serving three selected services in each direction with the help of a catering partner, Sambos.ie.
The train serves Ballinasloe, Athlone, Tullamore and Portarlington.
Irish Rail's keen to expand, depending on the results of the pilot.
Spokesperson Barry Kenny, says the trial run is happening on the Galway route as it's the busiest line without a tea trolley:
