Teachers' Unions Insist They Did Not Seek Pandemic Bonus

However, the TUI wants to be involved in discussions around acknowledging workers' contributions during the covid crisis.

No claim has been entered for a pandemic bonus by teachers' unions. 

A joint statement from the TUI, ASTI and INTO is calling for inclusion in any wider discussion of extra pay or holidays for frontline workers. 

General Secretary of the TUI, Tullamore's Michael Gillespie says members haven't been consulted for their thoughts on the matter yet. 

He's dismissing concerns about the potential cost of the bonus to the state:
