Portlaoise Train Station are set to benefit from this move.
Three new trains are set to serve a Laois station.
The new services were confirmed to Laois TD Sean Fleming, as the 6am morning train from Heuston Station will now stop at Portlaoise at 6:42am, providing an additional early-morning service.
The Cork to Dublin train will now stop at Portlaoise at 10:25am, serving a new morning service from Portlaoise to Dublin.
And the late-afternoon Cork to Dublin train will now stop at Portlaoise at 5:50pm on its way to Heuston Station.
Despite the extra services, Fianna Fail Deputy Sean Fleming says he's "disappointed" over the late-night service leaving Dublin after 11pm and travelling to Portlaoise has not been approved.
