Women are encouraged to try something new and experience the benefits of the outdoors.

Women across the midlands are being encouraged to get involved with 'HER Outdoor Week'

The initiative runs until Sunday and encourages women to try something new to see the benefits of the outdoors.

Across Laois, Westmeath and Offaly, people women can take part in events such as kayaking, cycling, yoga, swimming, soccer skills and more.

Coordinator with Laois Sports Partnership, Caroline Myers says they try to cater for everyone:
