Tougher Penalties Planned For Wrong-Way Drivers Following M9 Crash

Over €811,000 has been raised for three Midlands sisters injured in M9 crash.

The Junior Transport Minister says new legislation is on the way to impose tougher penalties on motorists caught driving in the wrong direction.

This comes following the recent crash on the M9 near Athy, as well as a number of other incidents involving motorists travelling the wrong way and posting videos online.

A fundraiser set up for the three Midlands sisters seriously injured in the M9 crash has raised over €811,000.
