Westmeath Crash Victim Being Laid To Rest Today

Tributes are pouring in for Tom Lynam, who died on Monday.

The victim of a single vehicle collision in Westmeath earlier this week is being laid to rest today.

Tom Lynam died while driving his tractor on the Mullingar Road in Kilbeggan last Monday morning.

He's being laid to rest in the Relic Cemetery, Kilbeggan after funeral mass in St. James' Church at 10 o'clock this morning.

General manager of Kilbeggan Racecourse and life long friend, Paddy Dunican says Tom had a huge impact on the area:

Funeral mass for Tom will take place in St. James' Church, Kilbeggan at 10 o'clock, after which he will be laid to rest in the local Relic Cemetery.

Friends and neighbours are welcome to stand along the route to the church and cemetery, while following social distancing rules.

Numbers are restricted in the church. Those who would have liked to attend can vie the Mass live on the Kilbeggan Parish webcam.

He's predeceased by his mother Kathleen, father Lockie and brother-in-law Seamus.

He's survived by his brother PJ, sisters Mary (Daly) and Eileen (Robbins), sister-in-law Dolores, brother-in-law Sean, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, godchildren, aunt, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
