US President Donald Trump says his decision to remove tariffs on Irish whiskey was influenced by Offaly's new Irish Open Champion
During the Irish Open trophy presentation in Doonbeg, President Trump announced that the current 10% tariff on Irish whiskey would be lifted after discussion he had with Clara's Shane Lowry among others.
The move brings Irish whiskey into line with UK whisky - including Scotch and whiskey produced in Northern Ireland - which already enters the US tariff-free.
