The Technological University of the Shannon has been granted the EU Newcomer Gender Equality Champion for 2024 in recognition of its work to advance gender equality in education and research.
The special ceremony is aimed at academic and research organisations across Europe that have implemented and successfully progressed gender equality action plans.
TUS received €100,000 aswell as the honour, presented by Director General for Research and Innovation Marc Lemaître and Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Iliana Ivanova.
