A midlands university is set to benefit from a €5 million mental health support package being made available to third level students from today.
TUS Athlone, and the wider Technological University of the Shannon institution is receiving just under €300,000.
Higher Education Institutions across the country can avail of the funding to engage mental health professionals including student councillors, assistant psychologists, nurses and GPs.
It brings to almost €21 million, the total amount allotted to provide such service since 2020.
