The 'Tara Scougall' life-boat crew responded to the call for help within 15 minutes.
Two fishermen have been rescued from the River Shannon in the midlands.
Lough Ree RNLI responded to the call from the men on Saturday afternoon when their boat started taking on water in Athlone.
The volunteer crew of lifeboat 'Tara Scougall' reached the scene within 15 minutes of the call, and assisted the fishermen in getting on-board.
They were then handed over to the care of Emergency Services on the riverbank, and neither suffered any 'ill-effects' from the incident.
This was the second call-out of 2023 for Lough Ree RNLI.
