The VEX Robotics Championships are taking place this week.
Two secondary schools in Offaly are heading to America to represent Ireland in robotics.
Sacred Heart Tullamore and Coláiste Choilm won awards in the secondary school category of the VEX Robotics Championships yesterday.
It means they'll be heading to Dallas to compete in the World Championships in May.
The competition continues today in Cork with Offaly and Laois schools representing the Midlands in the primary school category.
STEM Engagement Officer in Laois County Council Seanie Morris says it's hoped those taking part will work in the sector in future:
