Ukrainian Refugees To Be Expected To Find Jobs In Ireland Under New Proposals

They are going to Cabinet today.

New arrivals from Ukraine will be expected to take up employment in Ireland, under new proposals going to Cabinet today.

That's according to Laois Offaly Fianna Fáil TD and Junior Foreign Affairs Minister, Sean Fleming.

The government is expected to sign off on those plans, which also includes those fleeing the war would only be provided with accommodation from the State for 90 days.

While they are in State accommodation their welfare rate would also be slashed from €220 to €38.80.

It would then revert to the higher rate when they leave State accommodation.
