The Friends of Julia campaign wants to honour the estimated 50,000 people buried at 18 former psychiatric institutions across Ireland, including 1,304 at St Loman’s in Mullingar with a memorial wall.
The HSE says restoration works are under way at the cemetery, including memorial installations and conservation measures, with completion expected by early 2026.
