"We Think It's Very Unfair" - Westmeath Hotel Set For IPAS Renewal

Harry's Hotel is expected to renew its IPAS contract for another year.

Tourism and hospitality in a Westmeath town are being undermined by asylum seeker accommodation.

That's according to Mullingar Kinnegad Councillor Denis Leonard.

Harry’s Hotel in Kinnegad will continue to act as an IPAS centre for another year with new contract set to be signed imminently.

The Labour rep believes the town lacks the amenities and facilities to support the arrival of "150 plus single men".

He says the hotel needs to be returned to the community:
