'We're Being Asked To Take One For The World' - Smollen

The Offaly councillor says an unfair burden is being put on the Midlands.

Just Transition is putting an unfair burden on the people of Offaly according to one Midlands public rep.

Ken Smollen believes the potential 150m euro investment is miniscule and there won't be enough new jobs to compensate for those who lost employment.

The independent councillor says people are angry at the importation of peat, which can no longer be extracted in the Midlands, and that power plants are being built in other countries.

He believes Offaly people are being asked to take one for the rest of the world.
