A Westmeath author has been announced as the winner of one of the most prestigous literary prizes in Ireland.
Kinnegad's Nicole Flattery is this year's recipient of the Rooney Prize which recognises a writer under 40 for their outstanding body of work.
Her fiction and commentary have been published in The Stinging Fly, The London, and The New York Review of Books.
She will receive the award at a gala ceremony at Trinity College Dublin.
