A Westmeath bar is closed after it was 'extensively damaged' in a fire.
Two units from the Mullingar Brigade and one from Meath attended the blaze, which broke out at Scalon's Bar and Restaurant in Kinnegad on Sunday shortly after 9am.
The kitchen has been extensively damaged due to fire, heat, smoke & water from firefighting operations, however, emergency services prevented the fire from spreading to the roof and the rest of the building.
Firefighters were on-site for nearly three hours, dampening down, checking for hot spots and potential reignition sources.
Scanlon's Bar took to Facebook to say all of its staff are safe and well, and it will reopen as soon as possible.
