The Lough Ree branch are holding the open evenings this week.
People across the Midlands are being encouraged to volunteer at a Westmeath branch of the RNLI.
The open evenings will take place at the lifeboat station this evening and this Thursday in Coosan Point in Athlone at 6:30pm.
Those attending can see training in action and meet with current volunteers to see how the process works.
