A number of job losses are expected in Westmeath after the HSE's decision not to renew a homecare oxygen contract.
Workers at BOC Homecare in Westmeath say they were made redundant on Monday, after being told of the HSE's decision 18 months previous.
It's believed the closure of the BOC site in Athlone will lead to the loss of 13 jobs.
The company say alternative employment within BOC was offered where possible but , where alternatives were not available, redundancies were made.
