Westmeath Council Send Letter To Mayor Of Wuhan

The county has close links to the area where Covid-19 originated.

The Mayor of the Chinese region where Coronavirus orignated has received a letter of well wishes from Westmeath County Council. 

Two years ago a delegation from the local authority travelled to a global conference Wuhan with the aim of creating new links for businesses in the county. 

Current Mayor of Athlone Frankie Keena says a return trip was planned at the time -- that is now on hold for the forseeable future. 

The Fianna Fail cllr says Westmeath has close links with the province:
