Westmeath Councillor Calls For Data Centre Policy Review

Appeals were recently submitted against plans for a €1 billion data centre in Westmeath.

A Westmeath councillor is calling for a review of data centre policies in the county development plan.

This comes after 10 separate appeals were lodged against plans for a €1 billion data centre in Westmeath.

Kinnegad Labour rep Denis Leonard believes data centres, industrial wind farms and solar farms could pose a significant threat to food security in Westmeath in the future.
