Westmeath County Council is defending its record on Traveller accommodation.
It says it's ahead of target in providing social housing within the community and Traveller specific accommodation is being developed in Athlone and Mullingar.
Cllr Andrew Duncan, who's on the Traveller Accommodation Committee, insists the local authority is ‘at the top of the tree’ when it comes to providing Traveller housing on a pro rata basis.
