Westmeath County Council Passes Parental Alienation Motion

It's become the eleventh local authority to do so.

Westmeath County Council is the latest local authority to adopt a motion calling for parental alienation to be made a criminal offence. 

Parental Alienation is said to take place when a child chooses one parent over another during divorce proceedings because of the actions of one parent against another. 

Ten local authorities have already passed the motion including Laois, with another five expected to bring it in in the coming month.
